Going to grade school in three countries — India, Canada and the U.S. — school was always a constant for me. Through spending an immense amount of time in each of my school communities, I learned about the lasting and vastly different impacts education policies have on stakeholders in the school community. I knew I wanted to capture the stories of those impacted in different ways.

Using print and audio journalism as my mediums of choice, I’ve been able to report on stories that weave community stories with the intricacies of policymaking, both in the K-12 education space and in other policy areas. As a community-oriented journalist, I strive to work with the community to tell stories that matter to them, from a new cafe opening to advocating for equity in school curriculum.
